The past decade has seen a sharp rise in the number of youth migrants and refugees in Europe. According to Eurostat, in 2021, the European Union (EU) reported a record high of over 4 million first-time asylum seekers since 2015. The social inclusion of youth migrants and refugees has become a pressing issue for European societies. To address this issue, the consortium has launched the Consulting EUTH project. This project aims to enhance the level of social inclusion of youth migrants and refugees by co-designing policies through the setting up of consultative bodies at the local and European level.
The project aims to facilitate the participation of youth migrants and refugees in the decision-making process at both local and European levels. The project involves the setting up of consultative bodies that bring together representatives of local authorities, civil society organizations, and youth migrants and refugees themselves. These bodies will work together to co-design policies that enhance their social inclusion. The consultative bodies set up under the CEUTH project aim to promote the active participation of youth migrants and refugees in the decision-making process.
