The LFLO project is revolutionizing the way foreign language learners approach language learning. With the increasing demand for multilingualism in today’s globalized world, the LFLO project aims to make language learning more accessible and effective through the use of online resources. The project’s focus is to gather high-quality online educational resources (OERs) and compile them into a single website, making it easier for language learners to find the information they need. These resources have been thoroughly assessed by a team of experts to ensure they meet the highest quality standards, giving learners peace of mind that they are learning from reliable sources.
In addition to providing a comprehensive selection of OERs, the LFLO project also seeks to support foreign language learners by providing guidance on how to effectively use these resources. This guidance will take the form of an e-course, designed to help learners navigate the website and utilize the resources available to them. The goal of the e-course is to empower language learners to take control of their learning journey and upgrade their language skills in a self-directed manner.
In these lines the project consortium has proceeded to the completion of the 5 learning modules. The process of designing and conducting a language course requires a thorough understanding of the learning needs of the learners. The process of planning and conducting a language course involves several important steps, starting with a Learning Needs Analysis (LNA) to identify the skills gap of learners and understand their learning needs. Once the needs are identified, setting SMART goals is crucial as it provides a clear understanding of what constitutes expected levels of performance and successful professional development. The next step is designing a successful learning plan using the framework of Learning Design, which focuses on the learners and structures the curriculum, timetable, and assessment process. Implementing the learning plan involves breaking down the goal into individual steps with defined activities, time requirements, and desired outcomes. Finally, monitoring learning is important to track progress and measure success through tracking tools and milestones.
In this context, the consortium met in Seville, Spain in November to discuss the next steps of the project and the modules implementation. The LFLO project is committed to making language learning accessible to as many people as possible. To this end, the project aims to make the outputs available in three major European languages, with plans to disseminate the information across several European countries. By making the outputs available in prominent European languages, the LFLO project hopes to give language learners the support they need to succeed in their language learning journey.
