TIPS
“TIPS” project aims to create innovative educational tools, for adult educational trainers and parents of children with ASD, with the aim of helping their children learn important life skills through the use of the use of the TIP and two different digital tools. The trainers are expected to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge of autism and will be able to plan and implement learning activities for parents.
Impact
Adult educators:
- professional development in Gamified Based Learning as an effective educational methodology;
- development of skills and competences to teach social skills, acquisition of new Teaching Interactive Procedures (TIP);
- access to an innovative educational package on social skills though digital means;
- increase their capacity to build their own courses and strategies on any subject and to integrate them in the already approved curricula;
- improved digital skills.
Parents of children with autism:
- skills and competence acquisition in teaching social to their children with autism through digital tools and TIP;
- reduction of difficulty in communication with their children through games, positive impact on well-being and quality of life of the family;
- increase their confidence related to raising their children with ASD.
Children with ASD:
- acquire new social skills;
- improve their communication skills;
- improve play skills;
- improve digital skills;
- learn how to act in different situations;
- improvement of social inclusion.
Our Role
Innovation Hive is actively contributing to the identification of the skills that educators and parents need for educating their ASD children, as well as to the content of the curriculum to be integrated in the e-platform.
We are leading the development of the TIPS digital game, an interactive scenarios game in the form of ‘snakes and ladders’, aiming to enhance the social skills of children with autism.
