FLY-IN

FLY-IN project will be an effort to develop an educational program to train-the-youth workers coming from financial institutions, youth centres and educational organisations involved with youth, NEETs, migrants, and women empowerment to train young women with a double-disadvantage (NEET with a migrant background) to become financially literate. Therefore, we propose a project with the following objectives: *To develop an innovative training program for youth workers, to give them the tools, guidance, and proper support to train young NEET women with a migrant background in Financial Literacy. *To directly train youth workers in Financial Literacy who in turn, will train young NEET women with a migrant background, in order to enhance and further the future effect of those trainings. International cooperation of partners from Sweden, UK, Cyprus, Greece and N. Macedonia through the current project is an important factor that will allow them to develop and present a comprehensive training program for young NEET women with migrant backgrounds to become financially literate. Based on the needs assessment by all 5 partners will be invaluable in the sense that it will present trans-European recommendations. Another important aspect is the possibility for youth workers to meet, exchange experiences, and concerns. Furthermore, through our cooperation with a range of related stakeholders and associated partners, we foresee that a further result will be a collaborative network of experts in the field of financial literacy who can continue to work and collaborate together after the completion of the project, who will be involved in the project enhancing the dissemination extent and the project impact.

Impact

The growing need to provide financial literacy to young women, especially young women with a double disadvantage – NEET with a migrant background – and increase their financial independence and economic success is imperative in our days. Unfortunately, there are not many initiatives in the EU to carry financial literacy education among young NEETs. Therefore, youth workers will have the full backing of the partner organisations of the project, through this innovative training program and its IOs to help the young NEET women with migrant backgrounds to reach new financial skills and knowledge to use it within and out of their households. The young NEET women (participating in the pilot-testing program of financial literacy curriculum) are expected to:
-comprehend financial issues in the best possible way;
-access the developed digital education game and the eLearning portal to develop their financial literacy skills
-improve their critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills,
-become more confident through networking and participating in group activities;
-improve their cooperation and communication skills
-improve their financial inclusion
