In recent years, immigration within European borders has increased. There was a time, more specifically the years 2015-2016, when immigration numbers reached a peak. This phenomenon has subsided significantly, but there is still a wave of refugees, migrants and asylum seekers arriving every day.
The Navi-Mig project is a European Union-funded Erasmus Plus project that helps migrants navigate key services and integrate into the labor market. Arriving in a completely foreign country, often not by choice, can be very difficult and stressful. The idea behind the project is to contribute to the inclusion and integration of newly arrived migrants by creating an application that provides information on everything from housing to immigration and visa status. The application will be a fully featured tool that can provide comfort and guidance to those who need it.
The project consists of five deliverables. The first is the Navi-Mig mobile application – a roadmap for migrants in Europe, the second is a mentoring program for migrant inclusion, the third is a digital training program for labor market integration, the fourth is the Navi-Mig digital inclusion platform, and the fifth is the Navi-Mig sustainable project results manual. Innovation Hive plays an active role in the implementation of all project outcomes and is leading the dissemination activities of the project.
On September 6th and 7th, the second transnational meeting of the consortium was held in Helsinki, Finland. They commented on the progress of the project, gave feedback on the activities and discussed next steps to implement the project.
